In recent years, silence and empty space have served him almost exclusively as raw material, functioning as essential elements of language in the conceptual and practical configuration of the subject\u2013object and transparency\u2013opacity relationships, not only within the visual field but also in literature and dance.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"682\" data-end=\"1172\">The series <em data-start=\"693\" data-end=\"708\">Survival Unit<\/em> shows how environments, although inert and inanimate, can become agents of a form of self-induced surveillance\u2014a performance triggered by the spectator\u2019s gaze, reflected in the rear-view mirrors mounted by the artist on inanimate objects and trees.
