{"id":2595,"date":"2025-04-01T08:03:38","date_gmt":"2025-04-01T08:03:38","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/artencounters.ro\/expozitie\/desfacerea-lumii\/"},"modified":"2025-05-19T07:59:58","modified_gmt":"2025-05-19T07:59:58","slug":"desfacerea-lumii","status":"publish","type":"expozitie","link":"https:\/\/artencounters.ro\/en\/expozitie\/desfacerea-lumii\/","title":{"rendered":"Anca Benera &#038; Arnold Estef\u00e1n: UnWorlding"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Art Encounters Foundation is pleased to present the exhibition of the artistic duo Anca Benera and Arnold Estef\u00e1n: ,,<strong>UnWorlding<\/strong>\u201c, a major exhibition by the Romanian artists based in Vienna, brought for the first time to Timisoara, which will take place on October 24, 2024, at 18:00.<\/p>\n<p>The exhibition Anca Benera &amp; Arnold Estef\u00e1n \u2013 UnWorlding engages in a <strong>profound discussion about the ecology of the relationships between nature and culture<\/strong>, challenging us to reconsider the traditional distinctions between these domains. Themes that have preoccupied the artists in recent years include the militarization of nature, the exploitation of natural resources, ecology and extractivism in the context of the Anthropocene. They explore thus, particularly in the new work presented here, <strong>UnWorlding<\/strong>, the role of art as a mediator between the natural and man-made worlds, offering a new understanding of the interplay between them.<\/p>\n<p>In this new work, Constantin Br\u00e2ncu\u0219i\u2019s <strong>sculpture Wisdom of the Earth<\/strong> is reimagined in a new form: a 1:1 scale replica made from a block of salt will be exhibited alongside a video work documenting the entire process of degradation through the sculpture\u2019s interaction with animals and the weather.<\/p>\n<p>This exhibition marks an important moment in a <strong>strategic collaboration between the Art Encounters Foundation and the Neuer Berliner Kunstverein (nbk) in Berlin<\/strong>, a leading European institution. Following the success of the two artists\u2019 first solo show in Germany, Rehearsals for Peace, presented last year at the nbk, DesFacerearea of the World brings together both the works shown there and a new work realized in the context provided by the Art Encounters Foundation, alongside many other works. Curators Krisztina Hunya and Diana Marincu represent the two partner institutions and bring together relevant and innovative works, offering the public a challenging and intense artistic experience.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The opening of the exhibition takes place on October 24, 2024, at 18:00 in the exhibition space of the Art Encounters Foundation in Timi\u0219oara (Bd.
