Anca Munteanu Rimnic

(b. 1974)

She studied at the Universität der Künste (University of the Arts) in Berlin from 1995 to 2001. Whether it is a question of objects, photography, film or installations, her artistic approach passes through a series of perceptive filters, from those of the artist-observer to those of the spectator who reacts and interacts with the works in a given space. Anca Munteanu Rimnic diverts the functionality of objects to move them into other emotional and aesthetic contexts, emphasizing the visual impact and the paradoxical variables of everyday life.

Soles

Each geometric piece is different from the others. The pieces mix together like in a traditional Romanian carpet, forming a kind of map that one could learn to decipher. The artist’s playful conceptual approach allows the viewer to revisit questions of identity and contemporary artistic production stemming from traditional motifs.
