He was a Romanian photographer who studied under the Ukrainian artist and sculptor Archipenko in Berlin. He also studied in Paris under the painter Fernand Léger. In 1929 he began experimenting with photography; he was drawn in particular to darkroom techniques like solarization and photograms. His work was included in the 1936 International Exhibition of Contemporary Photography. He returned to Romania in 1937 and opened a portrait studio. In 1960 he moved to Paris, continuing his work in advertising and nude photography.
