Christine Cizmas

(b.1978, Timișoara)

Christine Cizmaș (b.1978, Timișoara) has experienced a life shaped by both political change and personal exploration. She lived through a period of dictatorship, participated in a revolution, and navigated multiple social and governmental shifts. Raised in a multi-ethnic environment, Christine has always been deeply connected to the arts, from underground to academic expressions. Primarily an actress in the independent sector, she engages in numerous artistic initiatives but feels limited by traditional scripts. Her work is driven by a continuous search for essence, often focusing on people, with the process being as important as the outcome. Christine Cizmaș is a co-founder of Auăleu theatre, co-founder of Scârț Loc Lejer, and co-founder of Muzeul Consumatorului Comunist (Communist Consumer Museum). Embracing life’s challenges, she views art as a journey of curiosity, discovery, and emotional depth. With a deep admiration for David Bowie, Christine believes, “Life is my stage!”
