Jacques Hérold is a painter from the surrealist period whose canvases are initially constructed from a cruel vision of the human body, with characters torn apart in warm colors. Towards the end of the 1950s, his painting became more temperate, and organic-vegetal forms in crystalline, poetic colors began to appear.
