(b. 1986)
Graduated from the Photo-Video Department of the University of Art in Bucharest in 2008 and two years later she obtained a Master’s degree from the same department. Her projects question the received ideas and values of current societies, towards which she always maintains a critical stance. All of this is filtered through an ironic and raw line drawing style, often integrated into immersive installations, which involve the viewer in order to complete the context.
Lea Rasovszky is interested in marginal “cultural” subjects, playing as much on the psychological as on the social, treated with a sweet and bitter humor.
The inflatable structure paradoxically brings together the fear of war and childhood memories, the tension of conflict and the sweetness of children’s games. These contradictions generate a gun that inflates and deflates, like a breath, and comes to remind us that human violence is daily, often out of proportion.
