Mi Kafchin

(b. 1986)

Currently based in Berlin, graduated from the University of Art and Design in Cluj-Napoca. Her creations combine a wide variety of expressive techniques, such as drawing, sculpture, installation and video. The transformations that follow one another in her artistic practice, whether at the thematic, chromatic or compositional level, manifest themselves as the assumed echoes of his autobiographical transformations.

In many of her works, Mi Kafchin mixes theories from recent scientific research and utopian technological approaches.

Distorted and traced in ink on wood, The Space Collector II reveals a map that only renders a partial image, since it is fully aware of the geopolitical issues associated with its outline. While scientific advances allow us to observe objects in space, we remain unable to see, much less record, the totality of the images of all objects.
