He uses different materials such as acrylic and oil paint, which he combines with the monotype technique. For a long time, his works have drawn on images found in newspapers, magazines and other publications, to which he has added in recent years elements of accessories, draperies or uncertain objects, never completely revealed. Dealing with psychological and socio-political subjects such as punishment and exile, his works often represent solitary and isolated figures. Mircea Suciu’s paintings isolate silhouettes, erase the backgrounds, accentuating the feeling of alienation. Ghost evokes the theater, but also something more political, a curtain, a direct reference to the Iron Curtain, to its metaphorical weight.
