About the workshop:
Picasso and Open Forms 002 is a workshop designed by Mihai Toth, part of a series of workshops for children aged 8 to 15, organised as part of the Picasso en visite exhibition at the Art Encounters Foundation. Starting from the works on display, participants will discover how Picasso transformed ordinary objects and materials, giving them unexpected forms and meanings.
Using unconventional materials — string, cardboard, textiles, packaging, and found or reclaimed elements — children will create imaginary faces, bodies, and objects through assembling, layering, and recomposing.
The workshop encourages experimentation, imagination, and the freedom to look at familiar things from a new perspective, turning the artistic process into an open-ended exploration of shapes, textures, and spontaneous associations.
