About the workshop:
Plan by Plan, Simultaneously is a collage workshop for children aged 8–12, organized as part of the Picasso en visite exhibition.
What does a face look like when viewed from the front and in profile at the same time? And what about an object or a landscape seen from several different angles?
The workshop begins with a guided visit to the exhibition, where children will discover Pablo Picasso’s artistic universe and learn more about Cubism and the ways in which Cubist artists experimented with perspective, shapes, and the fragmentation of the image. Together, we will explore how an image can be composed, deconstructed, and recomposed, and how multiple points of view can exist within the same representation.
During the practical part, each child will create their own compositional experiment using paper collage. Participants can choose to create a self-portrait, a still life, a landscape, or a free-form composition.
Through cutting, layering, and recomposing, children will be encouraged to look at things “from all sides” and discover their own ways of constructing and interpreting an image.
