About the workshop:
Plane by Plane, Simultaneously is a collage workshop for children aged 7 to 11, organised as part of the Picasso en visite exhibition. What does a face look like when seen from the front and in profile at the same time? And what about an object or a landscape viewed from several different angles?
The workshop begins with a guided tour of the exhibition, where children will discover Pablo Picasso’s artistic universe and learn more about Cubism and the ways in which Cubist artists experimented with perspective, forms, and the fragmentation of images. Together, we will explore how an image can be composed, deconstructed, and recomposed, and how multiple viewpoints can coexist within a single representation.
During the practical part of the workshop, each child will create their own series of visual experiments through collage. A sheet of paper will be divided into four sections dedicated to a self-portrait, a still life, a landscape, and a free-form composition.
Through cutting, layering, and recomposing, participants will be able to look at things “from all sides” and discover their own ways of constructing an image.
