The exhibition curated by Diana Marincu captures the disruptive political change in the world order we are witnessing today, as well as a shift in humanity’s relationship with the planet, the universe, our fellow human beings, and technology. The works of the 12 artists question human contact with otherness, the invisible micro-universes that make up our existence, and the transformations of the body today.
The selection of artists aims to reaffirm the mission of the Art Encounters Foundation to create a platform of visibility for artists from Timișoara or who have studied here (Alexandra Costea, Andrei Dinică-Nicolescu, Bogdan Rața, Florin Drăgoi), young artists at the beginning of their careers (Alexandra Costea, Andrei Dinică-Nicolescu, Luca Florian, Talia Maidenberg, Claudia Moraru, Mara Verhoogt), artists living in the diaspora (Ileana Pașcalău, Claudia Moraru, Ana Golici), but also to build intergenerational bridges that place artists in conceptual “families” that no longer take into account only age or geography (artists Ana Golici and Valentina Rusu Ciobanu).
