My Fair Shadow

My Fair Shadow explores how coping mechanisms are passed down from mother to daughter, becoming inherited forms of protection. Drawing on the visual language of shadow theatre, the exhibition presents a series of animated silhouettes exchanging animal masks associated with stereotypes used to ridicule or diminish women. Through a repeated ritual of disguise and transformation, the characters reclaim these identities as sources of strength, questioning which inherited behaviours continue to protect us and which we can leave behind.
