Art Encounters Foundation is expanding its programme with the opening of a new exhibition space dedicated to artistic experimentation and new curatorial practices. Within this space, Focus Art Encounters is being launched as an ongoing programme dedicated to supporting emerging artists through solo exhibitions, mentoring and curatorial guidance.

The first edition of Focus Art Encounters, organised in partnership with the Faculty of Arts and Design at the West University of Timișoara, will bring together four consecutive exhibitions, presented between September and December 2026, dedicated to selected students.

The four selected artists will benefit from:

  • An exhibition in the new exhibition space dedicated to the Focus Art Encounters programme;
  • Curatorial and professional mentoring throughout the development of their projects;
  • Project promotion and a public presentation;
  • A production budget of up to RON 13,000 gross, covering the artist’s fee and the costs of producing the project.

Send us your portfolio and CV at contact@artencounters.ro by 10 August 2026. The four selected artists will be announced on 17 August 2026.

The project selection will be carried out by Georgia Țidorescu, guest curator of the first edition of Focus Art Encounters; Mihai Toth, artist, assistant curator and cultural mediator at Art Encounters Foundation; and Bogdan Rața, artist and professor at the Faculty of Arts and Design, West University of Timișoara.
