AFFORDABLE CONSOLATIONS

Rebeca Ulici is an artist born in 2001 in Arad and based in Timisoara, who has already developed a mature and highly personal artistic practice. She works primarily in ceramics, engaging autobiographical themes and personal reflections on trauma, childhood, and healing.

The exhibition Affordable Consolations brings together several of the series she has developed over the past two years, while also presenting two new installations created specifically for this show, in which ceramics encounter other textures such as velvet, satin, and hair.

Georgia is a curator based in Bucharest. Rebeca Ulici

Rebeca Ulici is an artist currently based in Timișoara. She graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Sculpture from the Faculty of Arts and Design in Timișoara, as well as a Master’s degree in Ceramic-Sculpture. She continues her artistic activity in Timișoara alongside her doctoral studies.

In recent years, her focus on portraiture in ceramic material has come to define the core of her practice. Figurative sculpture—particularly the motif of the child’s physiognomy—has become her most recognizable artistic symbol. She works across multiple media, including textile and ceramic installations, plaster, and literature, while maintaining a consistent concern for figuration and autobiographical themes. Her artistic objective is to document, through a visual language, the present moments of her own life.
