Lera Kelemen (b. 1994) is an artist and sound designer from Timisoara, Romania, currently completing her MA in Sound Design at the Royal College of Art in London, UK. Her practice is research-based, working predominantly with installations, sound and moving image through which she interrogates notions of spatiality, interactivity, body, personal narratives and the dynamics of the built environment. She graduated with a degree in Fine Arts in 2018 and was the recipient of the Art Encounters Award for her graduation project. She has participated in a number of residencies and co-productions across Timișoara, Bucharest, London, Edinburgh and Hannover. Her most recent projects include installations Memonnade (Niki Residency, Hannover) and Pop-up Device for Experimenting Margins (Moving Fireplaces, Timișoara). Within her MA at the Royal College of Art, she is currently developing a series of interactive wearables that highlight the importance of tenderness in interacting with digital devices.
