Art Encounters Foundation presents LIGATURES, a series of exhibitions in a pilot space, developed as a result of a public call for applications unique for Timișoara, addressed towards young local curators (maximum 27 years old) through the CuratorTM program, developed in collaboration with the Timiș County Culture Directorate.
Isabella Madarász, this year’s winner of the contest aimed at young curators, proposes an ambitious artistic program, undertaken over an interval of 6 weeks, which will comprise the works of 5 contemporary artists.
Titled LIGATURES, the program will be comprised of 3 serial events, meant to reinforce the ideas of melding and joining together:
October 27th 2022: Opening of the exhibition titled “Fingerprint”, by Katalin Eva Pop & Flavia Chichin (between October 27th 2022 and November 3rd 2022).
November 9th 2022 (18:00): Opening of the exhibition titled “Sacral” by Yasmin Lindemann (between November 9th 2022 and November 17th 2022).
November 24th 2022 (18:00): Opening of the exhibition titled “Social”, by Georgiana Șleam, Andrei Dinică & Yasmin Lindemann (between November 24th 2022 and December 12th 2022/closing).
The 3 exhibition episodes are powerfully marked by graphic visual elements, such as engraving, digital collage and embroidered writing. At the same time, identify forming elements are proposed, such as the habit of embroidery taken up from one’s grandmother, disguised improper reaction, impactful historical periods, and personalized digital algorithms.
