On Saturday, June 26, at 17:00, we invite you to discover the exhibition The Third Woman – Actionism, performance, and attitudes through a guided tour with Diana Marincu and Gia Țidorescu, co-curators of the exhibition.
The Third Woman – Actionism, performance, and attitudes continues the collaborations that Art Encounters Foundation establishes with different art institutions and galleries in Europe with the aim of creating a platform for dialogue dedicated to the Romanian art scene and a dynamic context for artistic and curatorial research.
Curated by Ami Barak, Diana Marincu and Gia Țidorescu, the exhibition includes a valuable body of works from the Charim Collection in Vienna, along with an extract from the Ovidiu Șandor collection and several guest works by contemporary Romanian artists. At the heart of the exhibition are influential works by artist VALIE EXPORT, a pioneer of critical feminist art who used her own body in a radical and polarising style, dismantling traditional concepts of femininity within a male-dominated discourse.
The Third Woman – Actionism, performance, and attitudes is part of the cultural project “Art in Action”, co-funded by the National Cultural Fund Administration. The project does not necessarily represent the position of the Administration of the National Cultural Fund. AFCN is not responsible for the content of the project or the way the results of the project can be used. These are entirely the responsibility of the grantee.
The exhibition was realized with the support of the Foundation’s permanent program sponsor, Banca Transilvania.
